Before the industrial revolution, much of Gornal's open space was farmed,
nowadays none of the farms are still working, and not many of the old farmhouses
or farm buildings remain, those that do are used as domestic dwellings
and most of the farmland has been put to other uses.
This section deals with those in the parishes of Lower Gornal and Upper Gornal and
also those in the neighbouring hamlet of Cotwall End.
