Sam was a well known local character, 'hossmun' Sam lived his life with horses, he would often be seen about
Gornal with his horse and trap which he dressed up for special occasions.
Sam died in 1986. 
Partly demolished 2020.

The old house in Vale Street is presently (2014) in a poor state of repair after standing vacant for many years.
After many years in a derelict state, the house was part demolished in 2020. completely demolished a couple of years later.
