The Memorial is situated inside St. Peter's Church, Upper Gornal on the North wall of the Lady Chapel.
A new Memorial opened in 2018 situated in the shopping Precinct in Kent Street for the men of Upper Gornal who lost their lives in both wars.
Further work is planned for 2020-21, inluding the addition of a memorial wall which will feature the names of those lost.

"For conspicuous gallentry and devotion to duty during an enemy attack. While leading a party to clear the enemy from in front of our wire, he observed an enemy post fourteen strong, including an officer. He rushed his party at them, calling on them to surrender, and brought in the whole lot. He didplayed fine courage and leadership."
